RICK PALMER, President/CEO ComputerLogic, Inc. - "Paint and Material - Paradigm Shift" Is current paint and material compensation method the best and most accurate way (ref time x $ material amount)? Does current method compensate you for paint and materials used? Paint and material cost continue to rise, since 2004 national average cost of paint and materials have increased 50 plus percent. Average national compensation for paint and materials have only increased 23 plus percent since 2004. Do you use an invoicing/material calculating system?
TONY NETHERY, Business Development Manager at COLORMATCH - Understand, itemize, document and get compensated for your actions. Be aware recommended manufacturer repair procedures change know how to find this information. Instead of arguing with someone that does not know and understand the appropriate whats and hows help to education by providing the documentation of what and how. Document , itemize and get compensated for your actions.
JOHN CARDELL, Chief Automotive - You must be able to properly identify the different high strength steels and metals in today's vehicles. Understand the proper and accepted procedures in working with these metals. More and more vehicles are becoming a mix of the different metals with greater importance addressed to protection of the occupant/passenger compartment combining with lighter weight metals for greater gas mileage capabilities.
MYRON LAURENT, Education Specialist Department of Education, Associate Director, Alabama Skills USA - Industry must get involved to get people interested in working in this industry. Industry involvement in the technical schools and in Skills USA can and will lead to getting better qualified candidates involved and interested in the industry. All owners, managers, parents and concerned parties must get involved and be heard by the local educational officials and by officials at each level of the educational chain. Industry involvement can make a difference!
